A business unit of an automotive supplier – internally written off as a turnaround case, with nominal revenue of €70M but persistently loss-making and lacking transparency about its real drivers. Following PONS, we first created radical transparency, then ordered strategy and priorities, restructured the organization – and stabilized the results for the long term.
Instead of investing in new equipment, an automotive Tier-1 supplier opted for lean management. A fact-based OEE audit revealed that the nominal capacity was already there – it simply wasn't being used. Through 5S, bottleneck analysis, and shop-floor management, productivity increased significantly.
